The Boxed Cake

Comments
I’m usually against “boxed cake” because I love the taste of homemade desserts so much. If you’re hosting a large party you might be overwhelmed with the thought of baking from scratch, on top of the other things you need to prepare for… So, if that’s the case then I guess (haha) it’s okay to get your hands on the box, but don’t make a habit out of it 😉  Luckily for you there are some pretty tasty mixes you can buy that won’t have your guests thinking twice about your boxed cake 😉
1. If you have a Trader Joe’s near you, then you already know how AMAZING it is. They have a wide selection of organic, health-conscious and tasty products. Their chocolate (and vanilla) cake mix is moist, easy to make and isn’t filled with unwanted ingredients. They also sell a chocolate frosting that is simply divine and quick to mix up… and yes, it comes from a box!
2.The next mix, which I’m sure most of you have heard of, is Sprinkles. I had an obsession with Sprinkles when they first opened. They were one of the original “just cupcake” shops around and I would wait in line for 15 minutes for one cupcake! Zan and I even gave them away as favors at our wedding. The geniuses behind this scrumptious company decided to come out with a mix so you can make your own. Smart huh? They are VERY tasty and super easy to make. You can buy them at Williams-Sonoma or online and I promise your guests will have no idea it’s from a box… or can. 🙂

Both my husband and I love to bake. There’s nothing like his completely from scratch apple pie!

I do have to admit it’s nice to have a backup plan for those times when we’re just too busy to make everything ourselves. Love using Trader Joe’s for help. I haven’t tried the chocolate cake mix or frosting, though. FYI, the frozen desserts are mighty tasty as well.
