Entertaining

pass some ice cream to me please!

If you got the August issue of Better Homes and Gardens you probably saw this amazing ice cream social! I was smitten when I first saw this and wanted to share the inspiration. The party was hosted by Jeni Britton Bauer, ice cream maker, author and owner of Jeni’s Splendid Ice CreamSince I love to entertain (can’t do it enough due to our small LA space!!) I thought this was the cutest party and fun way to get friends together. Seriously, if we really think about it, the time we have here should be about celebrating and enjoying family, friends and good food and I’m talking sweets people! Zan is a crazy ice cream maker… He loves thinking of new flavors and sometimes I’ll come home to a husband who’s been in the kitchen all day making ice cream! Okay, that only happened a few times, but if it happened every day I would be pretty happy, haha : ) I definitely do see an ice cream party in my future!

I wish eating ice cream always looked that pretty! For me, it usually ends in washing everything I’m wearing.

I am such an ice cream fiend…I think I’ve almost gone off the deep-end this summer with the cool treat. Love these photos…can’t think of a better way to party it ol’ school!

I got so excited when I saw this post!!! I live down the street from one of Jeni’s ice cream shops and it takes some serious restraint to not go every day. If you’re ever in Ohio you MUST go!! You’ll fall in love! Her stores look just like the pictures, with vintage milk jugs as lighting fixtures and adorable bunting and hydrangeas everywhere. It’s so cute and so inspiring. She has the most unique flavors, like Cayenne Chocolate, Goat Cheese & Fig, Celery, Salty Caramel, etc. You’ll love it 🙂
