romeo’s room on apartment therapy

Last week a few snippets of Romeo’s room were featured on Apartment Therapy. I wanted to post a few more here and explain the creepy deer, haha!! I happen to LOVE the deer decals! I actually saw them about a year ago and really wanted to use them in some way. Then when I was planning Romeo’s room I remembered the deer and kind of centered the room around them. Our friend Todd made the silly faces on the decals to give them a fun look. I wanted his room to be unique and not too “babyish.” We hung art that was created just for him by Zan’s very talented and artistic friends. A hand drawn print of Romeo’s name that matches his dad’s tattoo was designed by Todd and a beautiful piece of art by Jen Montgomery that says “sweet baby romeo” in an animal type face that she created! You can find her work here. Also, a special map was made and marked with a few our favorite places in California. Zan found an old planting box at an antique shop and I cleaned it, lined the bottom and made it a diaper holder. Throughout my pregnancy I shopped for things that I thought would make his room special. I always kept an eye for items that were different and that I think he could keep in his room for years to come.

I think you did a great job on this room! I love the vintage, little gentleman look to the room over an overly baby room. You don’t see that often. Wonderful creativity!

The room is beautiful, I loved that it’s not “themey” (is that a word?) It’s warm and invited and personal, your baby is a lucky baby! And congrats on the AT feature!!!
