Charming Travels to La Jolla

Last week Zan and I took a weekend trip sans the sweet baby boy : ) We both needed a little time together without having our attention diverted every few minutes! We missed the little guy so much, but it was nice having a free schedule to do whatever we wanted! It was a great break for the both of us, which is super important as parents. We headed down south to La Jolla and made a pit spot at Disneyland. I know what you’re thinking… we have a little time away from baby boy and we head to a place FULL of babies and kids : ) But we love Disneyland and we had the best time running around and eating lots of sugar! In La Jolla we stayed at the Grande Colonial
in the village. It was such a relaxing atmosphere and when we arrived they had a nice fire lit in the lounge, so we enjoyed drinks by the fire after a long day at the park : ) The next morning Zanny treated me to breakfast in bed… one of my favorite things to do while on vacation! We took a day trip to Julian and had amazing fall weather; cold, cloudy and about 55 degrees. As soon as we got back to the beach it was 77 and gorgeous… typical California! Julian
is a historic town known for its apples, so when in Rome, right? We headed straight for the charming Julian Pie Company
to eat some amazingly delicious pie. Then of course we needed to wash that pie down with something, so we went to Julian Hard Cider
, where they make some pretty incredible cider beers. While in Julian, we also visited the “new” General Store (the building is historical and they saved it from being torn down!) that opened a week earlier. They have the most charming and adorable goods for sale. I picked up a bottle of that Noble maple syrup
in the pic and I’ve been obsessed with looking at it this past week. I don’t even want to open it!! Oh how I love a good general store. If you’re ever in Julian, CA definitely stop by there, you won’t be disappointed! At night, back in La Jolla, we had a quick bite and drink at sunset overlooking the ocean at George’s at the Cove.
The views were outstanding. It was a perfect and very much needed weekend in beautiful La Jolla, I highly recommend a visit. We were excited to get back to Romeo and kept reminding each other who was going to “get him” first, which is code for attack him with kisses, and I of course ran in before Zan could, grabbed that little monkey and gave him lots of mommy kisses.
