romeo’s first taste of food

October 4, 2012 | Snippets of Life | Comments

Romeo had his first taste of food this past weekend! I made him pureed carrots with my Baby Bullet (yes, that’s me in the infomercial, don’t ask!) and so far I think he likes his mama’s cooking… whew! He kept wanting me to feed him more and would open his mouth before the “airplane” was even close! I’m excited to keep making his food and to introduce new purees every week. I bought Tyler Florence’s Start Fresh baby food book and it’s AMAZING!! He writes about how sensitive babies’ tastebuds are (more than ours!) and that they really do care about what you feed them! Pretty much, if you won’t taste it, then don’t expect them to like it… I couldn’t agree more! Right now it’s just simple vegetables with a little steamed water, but I’m excited for when he turns 6 months because I can start using Tyler’s recipes. I want Romeo to have an open palate and to always try new foods. I’m also going with more of a “Bringing up Bebe” approach when he starts eating solids. This means rarely will I make him chicken nuggets and mac n’ cheese for dinner… unless we’re all eating it! Okay, enough of my food ranting. Enjoy the sweeeeet photos below : )

PS… I am SOO honored and excited to be chosen as one of Babble’s Top 50 Design Blogs for Mom 2012!! Oh AND I am picking a new winner for our candle giveaway because it was never claimed! I’ll have the winner up tomorrow!
