Who doesn’t love a delicious, rich cup of hot cocoa? We had guests over the other night and our friend Brandon asked for a cup of cocoa. After Mariah told me about this recipe, I wanted to try it. I added even more chocolate and a touch of heavy cream in with the milk and it turned out amazing. I then topped it with whipped cream and toasted coconut, which added the perfect touch. Mariah came up with some simple ways to spruce up hot cocoa. Gild the lily with your next cup and add a sprinkle of lavender or some peanut butter chips to the whipped cream. Some other topping ideas: A dash of salt, peppermint, cinnamon spice garnished with a cinnamon stick, chocolate shavings, toasted coconut or even fresh berries. Enjoy!
This is a great recipe. I added 1/2 cup more cocoa and 1/2 cup less sugar. I also used a combination of whole milk and 3/4 cup heavy cream. I like my cocoa very chocolatey and rich!
