We’re starting a fantastic new series here on Sugar and Charm. I better invest in a treadmill because we’re going “In the Mix” with best bakeries, sweet shops and little cafes around Los Angles and other fabulous cities! We’re getting a glimpse of the bakery, tasting the goods and drinking divine coffee. Sometimes we even get a little look behind the scenes with the talented pastry chefs themselves! I’m working with the amazing Kimberly Genevieve to capture beautiful lifestyle photos. You can check out her work here… she’s a wonderfully inspiring photographer. I’m extremely excited about this series and can’t wait to share some of my favorites from each place! So without further ado, we’re In the Mix with Short Cake!
Short Cake is a charming retro bakery, nestled in the historic Los Angeles Farmers Market at the Grove. Behind the counter there’s a spacious kitchen that fills the market with aromas of fresh baked pastries. The large glass cases are filled with mini pies, muffins, tarts, croissants and other enticing pastries. I couldn’t choose between all of the incredible desserts so I ended up with four large baked goods! The one that stood out to me the most was the Twice-Baked Almond croissant. It was wonderful and would be best enjoyed with some hot coffee (in their adorable retro blue cups) in the early morning, while the Famers Market is at its quietest. Short Cake is definitely a great shop to fuel up before a big day of shopping at the Grove!
