In the Mix with The Hart and the Hunter

This week we’re In the Mix and tasting some sweet treats with The Hart and The Hunter.  This uber trendy restaurant located in the Palihouse Hotel, Melrose is not only cooking up some good ol’ market-fresh food, but Le Cordon Bleu graduate and pastry chef, Sarah Lange is baking some insanely delicious treats. I sat down with Sarah, a plate of fresh baked treats and a very “handsome” latte and we chatted about our love for desserts. She is super friendly, down to earth and knows how to make one helluva cookie.


My favorite is the…
peanut butter marshmallow cookie, which Sarah told me is based off of a Fluffernutter! It’s chewy, rich and made with delectable marshmallow and peanut butter… need I say more? The oatmeal cookie with a light, perfectly sweetened cream cheese frosting is something that shouldn’t be missed. Her lemons bars… divine. They make your mouth pucker after the first bite and you can’t help but go back for more. The coffee bar behind the counter is brewing Los Angeles-based Handsome Coffee and if you’re lucky, Nicely will be there to whip you up one smooth and beautiful latte.This is definitely the place to go to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry. You might even get some interior design ideas while you’re indulging. The decor is fabulous!
