5 dessert trucks from around the world

I remember as a kid I would get so excited when I would hear the faint sound of the ice cream truck song getting louder as the truck came down the street. I would grab all the loose change I could find, run down the stairs, out the door and track down that truck before it drove out of sight. Yes, my love for sweets has followed me my entire life! Now, as an adult, I’m still delighted when I see a charming dessert truck. No matter how full I am, I will buy something from the truck because it’s adorable and I like to support the artist behind it. Everyone talks about the food truck trend, but really dessert and ice cream trucks have been around since the early 1900’s! You can find gorgeous historical photos of old ice cream trucks online. My father-in-law actually owned a hot dog truck in the early 80’s and Zan’s grandfather owned one as a young man. These days, I guess it’s a little fad, but it’s definitely not anything new : ) Read more to see some charming dessert trucks from around the world…

I’ve had Sweet Lucie’s, and I absolutely LOVE Enjoy Cupcakes! I’m hoping to convince a bride to use them for her wedding in September. They seriously are my favorite cupcakes. Ever.

I still have the same reaction when I hear the ice cream truck coming around the corner. There’s just something so nostalgic about it! And it makes me happy that the food truck craze has evolved into desserts as well. I hope it’s something that will stick around for a while 🙂

I don’t live in a town where there are many food trucks – except the mexican ones that go from home building jobs to home building jobs. Since I don’t wear a hammer on my belt, I have never eaten at one of those. Next time a desert truck comes along I am going to give it a try.

I loved this post! Thank you so much. I used to have a cupcake business and I found Hey Cupcake Austin so inspiring and cool. I think food trucks are amazing. I only wish we had some in our area.
