I’m really excited about bringing easy, inspiring beauty tips to Sugar and Charm. I wanted to create content that was more inspirational rather than step-by-step and features the best products, whether from boutique beauty companies or drugstore cosmetics. I teamed up with the outrageously talented (and extremely funny!) make-up artist Kelly Shew who has worked with many top celebrities, magazines and brands like Vanity Fair, Shape, Revlon, Juicy Couture and Roxy. I met Kelly about 8 years ago while we were both working at a make-up counter in Nordstrom! Wow, time flies, but so happy that we connected and are working together once again. So today’s look (on my beautiful friend Mara) is a simple light brown smokey eye and a glossy, peach lip. The real deal and what we’re talking about is the Naked Palette from Urban Decay! Umm, hello… where have I been?! After seeing Kelly work this palette, I was instantly sold! It’s her go-to palette that she uses on almost all of her clients (and girl’s got a suitcase full of eye shadow) and it always looks fantastic! With 12 gorgeous nude colors, you can easily take it from day to night and anywhere in between! For day or night, try a medium light brown smokey (featured) or use a dark smokey for a sultry night out, ooh-la-la. If you want to invest in one palette this is a good one to try. For the perfect peachy lips Kelly used Laura Mercier lip stain in Peach Glaze. I worked for Laura Mercier for a year and love her products. I hope you’re inspired by this beautiful look and try it yourself!
