ChocolateChipCookies1ChocolateChipCookies2ChocolateChipCookies3ChocolateChipCookies5I have a love hate relationship with chocolate chip cookies. I absolutely adore them, but I have the hardest time finding the perfect recipe. I’ve tried countless recipes and they never amaze me. You would think it would be the easiest cookie to make, I swear there’s an art to it, but maybe I’m just a picky chocolate chip cookie eater! When I came across this recipe with 5,500 reviews and 4.5 stars I had to try it. Ratings like that had me sprinting to the grocery store to buy a few bags of chips! The thing I noticed that’s different about this recipe is dissolving the baking soda in warm water before mixing it in. Besides that, it’s a straightforward butter and sugar cookie recipe. My friend Lindsay told me to stack the dough high to add volume to my cookies, which I did. Double stacked to perfection! I also added 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to the recipe. To my surprise they turned out pretty darn tasty! Even Zan, my critical cookie tester (the guy is brutal when it comes to cookie testing) said they were the best ones I’ve made so far. Can’t take credit for the recipe, but I’m sure glad I tried it out.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I’m sure it will include a few trips to the mall for holiday shopping. We’re going to attempt to take Romeo for his first hair cut! He’s sporting a real nice mullet right now and I can’t bare to see him strut his stuff with that mullet anymore. Poor boy has no control over what his hair looks like!! Chop chop!

These look yummy. do you need to adjust the baking time if you double stack the cookies?

Yes I baked them for a little longer 13-14 minutes, but I always take my cookies out when they’re a little underdone. They cook as they sit out too and I like them to be moist once they’re cooled.

    Hi Eden,

Really looking forward to trying these cookies but would like to know what size cookie dough scooper you used for this recipe. I have a few sizes and would preferably like to use the size you did, since I intend on double-scoping and using the same cook time you did.

    Many Thanks
