Homemade Ricotta with Blood Orange & Rosemary Honey

BloodOrange2BloodOrange4BloodOrange3BloodOrange1I promise this will be the last blood orange recipe I share this season! I wasn’t kidding when I said I really enjoy this fruit! Here’s a simple and delicious party appetizer made with a few of my favorite ingredients. First, whip up a creamy homemade ricotta (recipe courtesy of Ina!) then spread it on a slice of toasted baguette, top with a blood orange slice and drizzle with rosemary infused honey! An apple slice would be delicious on this as well if you’re not a fan of orange. I love how colorful this appetizer is and it’s so simple to make. It’s divine!

Follow this amazing Homemade Ricotta recipe from Ina

Rosemary Infused Honey
1/2 cup honey
3 sprigs of rosemary

Directions
In a small saucepan, bring the rosemary and honey to a simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it sit for another 25 minutes.
Remove the rosemary sprigs before bottling the honey.
Toast the baguettes with a little olive oil. Spread the ricotta on each piece, top with a blood orange slice and drizzle the honey over the top.

    Mmm. I love the sound of rosemary infused honey! I grew my first rosemary plant last summer and it did really well. I was throwing the stuff on everything! Excited to try this recipe in a few months 🙂

      Amy!! I just planted some rosemary and mint in my half wine barrels and it’s growing like crazy!! I LOVE being able to pick fresh herbs when I need them. It’s great! You would love this rosemary infused honey too 😉 XO
