There’s a place in LA that serves Soju and Sake fruit cocktails and after I tried a few, I knew I wanted to make some!

How To Make These Soju Cocktails – Step By Step

Pineapple Ginger Sake Cocktail

  • If you know you’ll be making these a few days ahead of time, I would toss the ginger into a bottle with 6 cups pineapple juice and let it infuse that way.
  • Then add in the turmeric and shake. If you’re doing it quickly, heat the pineapple juice, ginger and turmeric in a large pan and bring to a boil, whisking. Simmer for about 20 minutes, then let it cool back to room temp.
  • To make the cocktail, pour 2/3 cups juice into each 8oz glass jar. Then add in 1 1/4 oz unfiltered sake. Close the lid and shake. Then store in the refrigerator until cold before you serve these delicious sake cocktails!

Watermelon Lime Soju Cocktail

  • Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the inside into a blender. Blend on high until it’s liquid.

  • Pour 2/3 cup juice into each 8oz glass jar.
  • Add in 1 1/4 oz (or more if you want!) Soju and shake. Store in the fridge until cold and then serve!

Soju & Sake Cocktails – Great Make-Ahead Cocktails!

This make-ahead Soju and Sake cocktails are a fun way to serve drinks when entertaining. Technically you can make any type of shaken cocktail, store it in the fridge, then pass them out when guests arrive.

The great thing about using these 8oz jars with lids is that you can easily shake it up right before you serve! The mess of preparing the cocktails is already cleaned and you can focus on entertaining your guests!

A Healthier Cocktail

These are both great cocktail options for anyone who doesn’t like hard spirits like Vodka, Gin, etc. To create an easy and somewhat healthier version of a hard liquor cocktail, we’re just using fresh juice and soju or sake. They taste amazing!

Below are two versions that I personally love. One is pineapple juice, ginger, and turmeric with unfiltered sake and the other is fresh watermelon juice, lime, and soju.

Both Soju and Sake cocktails should be drunk cold!

Soju & Sake – Great for Summer Cocktails!

Sake and Soju work really well in cocktails, especially if you are looking for a little tipple. Soju is a Korean distilled beverage made from wheat, rice, or barley. And of course, Sake is made from fermented rice and originally from Japan. I personally prefer unfiltered Sake as it’s a little smoother and sweeter!

Tips for Making Sake and Soju Cocktails

  • Ideally use the freshest juice possible.
  • Use as good a quality soju & sake as possible.
  • For the pineapple sake cocktail, if making ahead of time, let the ginger and pineapple infuse together in a container, placed in the fridge.
  • Serve the soju and sake cocktails in jars with lids, so you can shake just before serving.

    • Yay! They’re both so good and even though it’s a little more work, I would use fresh pineapple juice because it makes a big difference 🙂
