So when we heard Jeni was opening up shop in Los Feliz, we might have busted out our happy dance of pure joy! Jeni’s is the real deal. It’s rich, incredibly creamy with bold and unique flavors and it’s one of the only shops I will actually order 3 scoops and eat them ALL! Flavors are mixed with chunks of deliciousness with colorful, tasty swirls. All of the ingredients Jeni uses are whole, fair-trade and many come from local Ohio farms. I’m also a huge fan of Jeni’s homemade ice cream base recipe and always adapt it for any ice cream I ever make at home, including this, this and this one! The secret ingredient she uses to make it super creamy is cream cheese and people go crazy for it! She has a great book out and has inspired me to make ice cream at home and play with seasonal flavors. So welcome to LA, Jeni’s! And by the way, the shop is absolutely beautiful (that tile!!) and yes, we’ll be visiting often!
