A firm favorite of mine, this cucumber vodka drink aka The Fig and Olive cocktail, is really something special! Not only do the flavors of blood orange and cucumber work so well together but also the olive oil just turn this easy drink into an amazing tipple!

Fig & Olive is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. It’s perfect for a light dinner or fun business meeting. We stopped in last week for a delicious lunch and to learn about olive oil through a tasting, which we’ll be featuring soon! They were so gracious to allow us to share the recipe to my favorite cocktail, that actually has olive oil in it!! The flavor combination of blood orange and cucumber is perfect! I’m going to start keeping these ingredients on hand so I can quickly whip up the Fig & Olive Cocktail for guests!!

How To Make This Cucumber Vodka Drink – Step By Step

  • Chop up the celery sprig and muddle inside a mixing tin; then add in blood orange olive oil after the celery is muddled.
  • Add lime juice and simple syrup to mixing tin.
  • Add 2 oz cucumber vodka.
  • Add ice.
  • Shake and strain over fresh ice.
  • Add a splash of soda.
  • Add celery sprig for garnish.

Top Tips For A Cucumber Vodka Drink

  • Make sure to choose a good quality cucumber vodka, to keep a fresh and subtle flavor. Rather than some cheaper brands that taste unnatural.
  • Choose a sturdy mixing glass when muddling.
  •  If you don’t have a pestle, a small, flat wooden tool is ideal, such as the end of a wooden spoon.
  • Garnish with a stick of celery

Ingredients

  • 2 oz cucumber vodka
  • 1 oz blood orange juice, something similar to this
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz blood orange olive oil, if you can use Fig & Olive’s blood orange it’s amazing, otherwise something like this will work too
  • 1/2 celery sprig
