How To Make These Homemade Christmas Ornaments – Step By Step

  • Swirl a little water in the ornaments (about a tablespoon and then dump it out completely.)
  • Pour the enamel paint into the ornament. You can use wooden skewer sticks to help move it around to different areas on the glass before you start to marble.
  • We found the best way to get the paint to marble and move together, is by tapping the ornament against your hand in a circular motion. Make sure you hold the opening closed with your finger and a paper towel.
  • Once the entire inside of the ornament is coated, place it back in the plastic container it came in to dry for 24 hours, with the opening facing up.
  • Within the 24 hours, turn the ornament to different sides a few times so the paint doesn’t settle in one area. So Be creative and enjoy!

Christmas Trees!

Fresh trees usually last for 4 weeks so you’ll want to put your Christmas tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Putting up your Christmas tree too early may dry out your tree before Christmas day comes around.

Remember to put up your tree in a cool spot since heat can make your pine tree dry out faster. If you’re putting up a fake Christmas tree, you have some flexibility and can put up your tree anytime in November if you choose. However, tradition calls for putting your Christmas tree up the day after or weekend of Thanksgiving.

  1. When you say enamel paint, what do you mean exactly? I searched enamel paint and apparently that description is used with acrylic paint (Americana Gloss Enamels) and can be water-, chemical-, or oil-based… And what is the purpose of swirling the water? Thanks!
