Lavender Blueberry Martini – The Perfect Smoking Halloween Cocktail!

When it comes to delicious cocktails for Halloween, this lavender blueberry cocktail is gorgeous and has a touch of theater to it! Perfect to wow your guests! The crimson red color is so alluring and ties in perfectly to the festive season and bubbling, smoking dry ice turns this wonderful cocktail into a show stopper!

Of course, it’s great without the dry ice, but if you want to add it then here are some tips for using dry ice.

  • Dry ice is safe to use in cocktails, it will not alter the flavor in any way.
  • You’ll need a hammer, screwdriver, and goggles to chisel your block of dry ice into ‘cubes’.  You can also crush the ice for a more subtle effect.
  • Drop the cubes (using tongs) into the bottom of your cocktail or punch bowl and it will immediately start to smoke.
  • Since dry ice doesn’t melt into liquid, you can keep adding more as needed to a punch, for instance, and it will not dilute your recipe.
  • Wait for the smoking to stop and the ice to completely melt before drinking your cocktail, it is not safe to drink while the dry ice is still present.

Homemade Simple Syrup

Simple syrup forms the base of many a great cocktail and is, well, simple to make! Also referred to as “sugar syrup,” simple syrup is a liquefied form of sugar that is commonly used to sweeten cocktails, iced tea, iced coffee, lemonade, and other cold drinks. Because it is a liquid sweetener, it is much easier to blend into cold beverages than regular sugar.

This simple syrup contains lavender, which complements the blueberries wonderfully. Lavender makes the simple syrup aromatic and floral. lavender is embraced for its calming, soothing properties.

This lavender Syrup adds semi-sweet, herbal floral flavor and beautiful, light purple color to this lavender blueberry martini.

A Blueberry Martini

This cocktail is a twist on the classic martini, by adding blueberries. Blueberries are less tart than raspberries and blackberries with a mellower, but not necessarily sweeter flavor closer to concentrated apple or pear than citrus. They give this lavender blueberry martini a lovely sour twist, without being too tart.
