Jameson Irish Whiskey

The most popular Irish whiskey in the world. This whiskey has a sweet honey fragrance of malted barley with subtle oak notes. It has subtle notes of tobacco, Graham cracker, and vanilla, with a hint of citrus.

A Great Drink For St Patrick’s Day Parties

These Irish whiskey cocktails are the perfect fit for St Patrick’s Day parties. There is a little prep work necessary, like making honey syrup and Guinness reduction simple syrup, but once you do that you’ll have enough to make 8-10 cocktails.

Once the prep work is done, these are a breeze to make. You can whip 4 up at once in a shaker, making it easier to serve to guests.

The Difference Between Irish and Scottish Whisky

One of the main differences between Scotch whiskey and Irish whiskey is the distillation process. While Scotch whiskey is distilled only twice, Irish whiskey undergoes triple distillation, giving it a marked lightness, and this is done in pot stills that are three times the size of normal copper stills. Now you know!

Guinness The – Not So Secret- Ingredient!

The Guinness syrup in this Irish Whisky Cocktail really does make the drink something extra special! The roast coffee flavor of the Guinness blends perfectly with the malty notes of the Irish whiskey. The great thing about the Guinness is it’s lighter than you’d expect, so the flavors are not overpowering.

Tips For Irish Whiskey Cocktails

Don’t rush the Guinness syrup – it could take up to 30 mins to reduce. Make sure it is half the size of the original amount.

Let the Guinness and the Honey syrups cool before pouring them into bottles.

Garnish with mint or even a clover.

As these are sipping cocktails, serve in a stemmed glass.

  1. Incredibly unique, way too sweet. This recipe was surprising very good with modifications. The lemon and stout work will together, giving the drink a refreshing, but rich taste. To better bring out the stout flavor, cut the lemon down to 3/4 ounce, reduce the 1 c. stout with
1/3 c. honey, and omit the honey sugar water entirely. In this manner, the stout reduction becomes the predominant flavor and not overshadowed by the sweetness. This, of course, also increases the whiskey flavor, too, so use good whiskey. If you don’t like whiskey, why even consider this recipe?

I was skeptical at first, but this is a really great cocktail! The Guinness reduction really makes this drink with its rich, deep flavor — its interesting to make because it never really seemed to “simmer”, even at medium heat, and took almost an hour but did reduce to 1/3 and it was excellent. An excellent, tasty, easy to drink St. Patrick’s Day cocktail.
