Etiquette School 101: Napkin Folding and Displaying

So I covered table-setting and now I am going to introduce you to the fabulous world of napkin folding and displaying. There are several classy and traditional ways to fold a napkin for a dinner party or event. There are also many styles you can choose from when displaying a napkin. To help you out, here are a few of my favorite ways to fold and display napkins… yay, this is fun!

The pocket fold with a menu tucked in and a little greenery to spruce it up… one of my faves.
The very elegant Kennedy White House fold, with a touch of country. I like the formalness of the napkin fold and how it’s contrasted to the informal style of the silverware! I think it goes well ; )
Simple fold placed under the salad plate. I love the monogram. By the way, Pottery Barn sells these napkins. I have them and they’re great!
Square fold napkin with menu and some simple twine and a tag… Love it. Unfortunately, I’ve had it in my “inspiration photos” folder for a while now and I can’t remember where I got it from! Email me if you know ; )
