mango agave wine blended cocktail


I made this cocktail with a rare liquor called Agave Wine. It’s popular in Mexico and I’ve tasted it a few times at authentic restaurants in LA. It’s made from the same agave plant that tequila comes from, but it’s a little lighter in flavor and alcohol content. I really like it and it’s cheap! You can buy it online or if you live in Los Angeles they sell it here. I wanted to make a delicious, blended cocktail that would be great for a Mother’s Day brunch. Mangos make this blended treat super smooth and taste incredibly tropical. If I close my eyes, I could be in Hawaii… minus the stream of cars rushing by our place and the sounds of a busy city… okay maybe if I close my eyes and put ear plugs in! This year for Mother’s Day, Zan’s mom will be flying into LA and I should probably hand her one of these when she arrives for all of the help she will be providing us with the baby : )


Mango Agave Wine Frozen Cocktail 
Makes one 7-8 ounce cocktail
3/4 cup organic frozen mango chucks
2 tablespoons agave nectar to sweeten
2 ounces agave wine
2 ounces fresh squeezed orange juice
2 ounces water (you can use coconut water too!)


Blend all of the ingredients together until the cocktail is smooth and free of chunks. Garnish with bananas and a fresh flower. Serve with brunch!

    Yummy! I am hosting a mother’s day brunch this year and I will love to do this. I notice you garnish your drinks with flowers a lot…do they need to be edible or can any flower be used as a garnish?
