our charming east coast trip

We’re back from our East Coast trip to New York, New Jersey and Cape Cod. We had an amazing time and we’re already missing it. We stayed with Zan’s parents in the charming house he grew up in (pictured to the right). It was super sweet to have Romeo there for the first time and we enjoyed introducing him to his great uncle, cousins and Zan’s childhood friends. Romeo meet our adorable cousins Alex (“Zanderman”), Julia & Nick! We were also lucky to have several date nights in the city while Romeo spent quality time with his grandparents! What a bonus for us! We took him to the city one day and went to FAO Schwarz. I’m a BIG kid when it comes to giant toy and candy stores. FAO Schwarz is by far the best toy store ever and Romeo and I are in love with it! We placed him on top of a massive stuffed dog and he was in mutt heaven. He gave us the biggest smile ever and charmed the other shoppers. He was infatuated with his surroundings and even found his long lost family members… you know the cute Paul Frank monkeys. I was personally a fan of the enormous, over-sized candy! Seeing all of that surreal candy was like a childhood dream come true. We also went to the most AMAZING bakery in NYC called Levain. Oh my goodness the cookies are incredible… a must try! Zan and I were able to dine at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill and also indulged in probably the best cannoli I’ve ever had at Rubirosa. I have fallen in love with the city, and its adorable flower stands on every other street corner, all over again. We’ll miss our family and the East Coast charm. Oh and I’ll miss the New Jersey shopping malls! Ahem, no tax. Tomorrow (and the next day) I’ll have pictures of our weekend in Cape Cod.
