Last week I had the opportunity to attend BlogHer 2013 with Turning Leaf Wine in the gorgeous city of Chicago. It was my first time attending BlogHer and touring Chi-town so I was extremely excited to go. I went on behalf of Turning Leaf, which was great because I was able to hang out in the Leaf Lounge sampling wine and chattin’ it up with fellow bloggers! It was a blast and I absolutely adored meeting so many new people and being in a creative environment. I also loved being there with Turning Leaf. They have a new brand of lightly fizzy wines called Refresh. I’m obsessed with the Red Moscato because it reminds me of a light sangria and for $8 a bottle, you can’t go wrong! You can buy all of them and serve a “wine flight” like we did at BlogHer! It was fun! A blog post on how I like to drink and serve it will be up soon. Even with the craziness of the conference, I was able to sneak away to try a few places I’ve been dying to go to in Chicago. I wasn’t able to do everything on my list (or the 7 page list my sister gave me!) because of time, but I did make a morning run to Do-Rite Donut (which was INCREDIBLE), Intelligentsia Coffee Roasters, The Little Goat, The Bean and I took a cab down to an area called Wicker Park for a little shopping. When I was there I stopped by a coffee shop that served me a 7-grain latté! I’ve never heard of 7-grain liquid, but it was actually pretty tasty. A good alternative to milk and soy. We also did the touristy thing and went to Navy Pier for a ferris wheel ride at night… seeing the lights of the city glisten on the lake was magical. What a stunning and energetic city Chicago is. I was very impressed and would love to return soon with my family!
