Besides my beloved Martha Stewart Magazine, which will always be top of my list, Country Living is one of my all time faves. The rustic yet chic interiors, easy recipes and beautiful DIY projects have won my heart. One of my favorite renovations they featured, that has inspired some of my home decor, was of a 1907 school house renovated into a home. See the images to the right. They’re the perfect example that there really are no rules when decorating these days! Mixing old with new, colors, patterns, modern art with vintage art. I’m actually very fond of this new decor era and it’s a good excuse to keep and work with the old furniture that I was going to toss! In other related news, this past October Hearst Corporation announced the departure of Country Living’s editor-in-chief Sarah Miller and the new editor-in-chief will be Southern Living’s Rachel Hardage Barrett. Is it weird that I’m always a little sad when an editor I love leaves a magazine? I know the overall aesthetics will stay true to the unique point-of-view Country Living provides, but I always notice a subtle difference! Excited to see what Rachel has in store though.
Hope you charmers have a beautiful weekend. We’re completely kicking back and enjoying every second of it! Below are some charming links from around the web:

I always wondered about the famous “GRACE” photo and its history. I saw it in a vintage shop recently and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. My grandparents (and I’m sure many of yours) had it hanging in their house. I love this quote from the photographer who snapped the shot in 1918, “This man doesn’t have much of earthly goods, but he has more than most people because he has a thankful heart.” Eric Enstorm. I think I’m going to go back and buy it ; )
Update: In last week’s post I mentioned I was going to see this movie. Well, I did and it’s flipping amazing… more amazing than I expected. Laughter, tears, time travel… the best! See it!!
More wallpaper… why am I wallpaper crazed right now? I love this new collection from Laundry inspired by their travels to Mexico… still one of my favorite travel destinations.
