I’ve had my eye on the Ranch at Live Oak in Malibu ever since I stumbled upon it last year. It’s tucked away in the hills of Malibu and if you follow Sugar and Charm, you know how much we love Malibu! In many ways the decor of this stunning fitness retreat is exactly what I’ve envisioned for our little ranch home. On a much smaller scale of course : ) Neutral colors, simple design, clean lines, white walls, rustic wood and minimal clutter. I even purchased taupe director chairs and a long dining table because I was inspired by the charming dining area. I enjoy the feeling of open space, without an abundance of art and decor accents everywhere. Another aspect I like about this place is that there is no copper or brass. I do love the brass trend going on, but it’s refreshing to see a space without it — like a deep breath of fresh air! Last week, I read this quote from Oprah and it hit home (insert family instead of dogs)… “What I need is dogs and books, light and space. Instead of feeling walled in by stuff, I want to feel surrounded by calm.” Isn’t that great?! I hope you find this rustic ranch as inspiring as I do!
