This Gooey Chocolate Cherry Crock-Pot Cake is definitely going to be a Halloween tradition in our home!! Around this time a year, I keep my slow cooker on hand as it’s the best kitchen tool for yummy home-cooked meals on the fly! This gooey chocolate cherry cake recipe turned out fantastic and of course, it’s extremely easy to make. The chocolate cake has almost like a moist gooey brownie texture and the cherries are a burst of sweet goodness! The cherries’ color make it feel like a Halloween dessert too, but it’s really perfect for any time of year if you put them in a small bowl or cup. The recipe is so good!!

Gooey Chocolate Cherry Crock-Pot Cake
2 (21 ounce) cans of cherry pie filling
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
8 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Grease the bottom of the slow cooker with butter, then heat to high.
Pour in the 2 cans of cherry pie filling and spread evenly on the bottom.
In a separate bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients. Whisk until all of the clumps are out and it’s smooth. Then sprinkle on top of the cherry pie filling in the Crock-Pot or slow cooker.
Melt 1 cup butter, then add in the vanilla.
Pour over the dry ingredients. You can give ONE slight stir (don’t mix it entirely, you want the cherries to stay at the bottom!!)
As it cooks, you can poke in there and push down any areas of the cake that need to be covered in the cherries to cook. The cherries boil over and cook the cake.
Let it cook for 2 hours on high
Serve with vanilla ice cream and make sure to pile on those yummy cherries!
