We’re so excited for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio!! If you’re hosting an opening ceremony viewing party, we have the perfect cocktail for you to serve! In honor of Brazil and the host city Rio, we’ve added a delicious, gingery twist to their most popular libation, the caipirinha. For this Ginger Caipirinha, we used Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer with lime, sugar and the Brazilian liquor cachaça and then garnished it with homemade candied ginger! It’s a refreshing cocktail that’s so easy to make, guests can even do it themselves! You can also serve Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer over ice with lime wedge too!
For the serving tray, we used this round yellow one to represent the rings of the Olympics! We also used it for our pool party! It’s my new favorite tray because of the size! Set out some lime wedges, sugar, cold Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer, candied ginger and cachaça and you instantly have a fun drink station!
For decor, I added some tropical flowers to the table because even though I’m not physically in Rio, I can only imagine the lush beauty of it! Flowers are ALWAYS going to be at any party I host regardless! We also hung some tropical ferns on the wall and used a few colorful, Olympic-colored coasters. Let the games begin!
