I’m a big proponent of playing games while entertaining with friends and family. In my family, a little friendly competition causes chaos and lots of laughter when we get together, which I truly enjoy! So, I wanted to share four of my favorite outdoor, summer entertaining games that are perfect for the smallest of parties to larger groups. Also, to accompany these fabulous games, I stocked up on some summer party entertaining items from Pinhole Press. It’s all in the details when entertaining and these items are things I can use no matter what the summer occasion is. I made personalized coasters with photos from our beach vacation that say “cheers to a charming summer” and adorable wine labels I can stick on a bottle when entertaining with a picture of Romeo and me with a beautiful wine quote. To keep score of the games we’ll be playing this summer, I created a few “scoring” notepads. One says “cornhole” and the other is monogrammed with our last name, perfect for card games. I love adding special touches to entertaining using these fun personalized items and they’re totally impressive too! Now onto my favorite outdoor entertaining games!
1. Heads Up! It’s very similar to charades, but it records the person who is acting from the phone camera, which is why you place it on your head! When you’re done you can watch the video and it’s hysterical! Can be quite embarrassing too, so be careful! It’s a great game to play with friends!
2.Cornhole. The ultimate yard game and one of my favorites! I grew up playing cornhole every summer and I just had one custom made for Zan as a house warming gift. It’s something I know we’ll create many memories with it. We introduced it to our friends last weekend and they were instantly hooked! A few beers and some cornhole make for a great summer evening.
3. Memory was one of my favorite childhood games and I still love it. If we’re around kids, I’m the first one to volunteer to play memory! Actually, I usually ask the kiddos if they want to play with me! I about died when Pinhole Press came out with a personalized memory game! I ordered one for Romeo with photos of his first year of life. I’m slowly teaching him how to play.
4. Hand and Foot. This is a card game I learned when I was in elementary school. We played it at every family gathering during my summer trips to the Midwest and as we got older we would sit for hours with a bottle of wine and play cards outside. It was simply the best and still is!
