My baby boy is one today! This past weekend, we were in San Francisco with my family for my sister Jessie’s graduation from law school, congrats Jessquire!!
Since we were traveling, we held a simple, but sweet family birthday gathering at the very beautiful and historic Presidio Social Club. Although I couldn’t go all out as I’d wanted too, it turned out really nice and it was great to be able to celebrate surrounded by family!
Poor Romeo is teething so badly, but as soon as we set down his rich chocolate cake from Tartine Bakery he forgot all about his aching gums. He decided to take the opportunity to demonstrate how everyone should eat a slice of chocolate cake. He picked up the slice like a block and went to caketown! He even licked the plate after he was done… wow, what a champ!
Zan and I are so blessed with such a sweet, smart and handsome boy. I love how friendly Romeo is and how he says “hiiiiiii” as we walk past people wherever we go. And I love how he picks out his favorite books, then crawls to me with them in hand and excitedly curls up in my lap.
And I ADORE that he already says “I lu you” which is, of course, I love you” in Romeo language. I still look at him and can’t believe he is ours. I look forward to watching him grow, teaching and guiding him and cherishing every day with our baby man.
Happy first birthday my “little”… I love more you than life.
PS… Romeo’s little ride (4 Moms) is famous everywhere we go! People want to see it fold and unfold by itself, haha!
