While we renovate the backyard (we’re removing 18 sprinklers and 1200 feet of grass!), we participated in a little Home Depot patio style challenge! I wanted to create a living room atmosphere outside where we could have dinner, relax and enjoy the sun and our giant oak tree! Home Depot sent us the Mill Valley Sectional Set, which was great because it’s large and filled up a good amount of the empty patio! We absolutely love how comfortable it is and that it can seat 6 people! And the cushions are made with Sunbrella material, which is awesome. For an entertaining bar, we painted an old console using Behr outdoor paint in Nature’s Reflection. I store glasses, wood and other convenient outdoor items in it. Since the patio was so stark and pushes right up to a brick wall, I layered in pots and plants to give it a little more of a lush, green feel. It helped break up the brick wall too. Even though the rest of our yard looks like a total mess… I’m talking dead grass, dirt, brick wall and a house looking into our yard (ugh!), we’re thoroughly enjoying this patio right now and can’t WAIT to finish the rest of the yard!

Hi I love the whole thing, everything you did is beautiful! I was wondering was the concrete pot that you put the bougainvillea in a diy or did you buy it somewhere, I’ve been looking for one similar everywhere!!

Your backyard looks beautiful – I can imagine how delightful it must be to spend your hours there! And I really love the look of your succulents – trying to have them indoors and learning about growing them well. Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures!
