Chinatown is located in a neighborhood near downtown Los Angeles and it’s a stretch of shops, restaurants, art galleries and incredibly beautiful buildings. For this LA with Kids, we took Romeo for the afternoon to introduce him to this colorful neighborhood and culture! We explored the little shops and he picked out a few small toys and a Chinese hat. We had coconut Boba tea (seriously the best!), walked around the marts, rode ALL of fun rides for kids and ended with a delicious and huge Chinese meal at Yang Chow. We highly recommend the Slippery Shrimp dish! Romeo was even able to sip the tea that I always remember loving at Chinese restaurants! I think it’s important to introduce your children to new cultures and surroundings, even if that means just exploring your area and a new neighborhood! Maybe one day we’ll actually make it to China, but for now this was a fun experience for our family!
