I know blue can be daring and can go very wrong if not done properly. But when Kelly and I were discussing beauty inspiration to share on Sugar and Charm,
I wanted her to create something using color on the eyes that was simple, light and pretty. Also, a look that is fun and inspiring for the busy hostess. I’ve been attracted to clean make-up looks lately that seriously only take a few seconds to apply. I’m a busy mom and on a daily basis I don’t want to go through all the steps of applying a full face of make-up. So this look was exactly what I was envisioning… a luminous blue eye shadow with light poppy lips. You can do a bold poppy lip too, that’s just as easy! Another great thing about this clean look is that those lips were created using one of my favorite drugstore cosmetic product, Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm. Have you tried these? They’re pretty fantastic and give a nice amount of color with just one swipe! I also like the more matte look, but you can always add a gloss on top. How much do we love cheap finds?! I ran to the store and bought three different colors! I carry them in my purse (or let’s be real… diaper bag) and if I feel that I’m looking blaaa I pick a stain. Instant pick me up. Another drugstore product I’m swooning over is Maybelline’s Baby Lips! So good!!
To get this look Make-up Artist Kelly Shew lightly dusted on a layer of Mac’s Brule in the creases and a little Fade on the lid. She then applied Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm to the lips. Topped it off with a little blush (I sound like I’m writing about a cupcake, lol) and mascara and you have one hassle free, gorgeous look. Perfect for summer, for the busy hostess and for a day at the beach!
