Key Lime Pie

For your Mother's Day party, try this key lime pie recipe that’s perfect for brunch! Everything is homemade for mom, even the whipped cream, which is so good!!

Ingredients

Graham Cracker Crust

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

Key lime Filling

  • 5 egg yolks lightly beaten
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed key lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Homemade Whipped Cream

  • 8 ounces heavy whipping cream half pint
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

Crust

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all of the ingredients together and press into a pie pan evenly. Cook the crust for 12 minutes or until brown. Let the crust cool all the way before adding the filling.

Pie Filling

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Thoroughly mix all of the ingredients together and poor into the cooled prepared crust. Bake for 15 minutes and allow to cool completely. Make sure the pie is cooked all the way through otherwise it will be very messy to cut… I learned from experience : )

Whipped Cream

  • Whip together on high until it becomes thick. Scoop a dollop of whipped cream onto the pie. Zest some Key lime on top of the whip cream for an added touch of flavor : ) Enjoy!
