Ingredients

  • 3 ounces simple syrup
  • 5 ounces lime juice
  • 5 ounces light to gold rum

Instructions

  • Prepare the simple syrup. Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup organic cane sugar in a sauce pan and simmer until sugar is melted. Let it cool to room temperature. You can store it in the refrigerator for one week.
  • Add the fresh lime juice, simple syrup and rum to a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice (leaving room to shake).
  • Shake for 30 seconds, then strain over a coupe glasses.
  • Add a lime slice to garnish and a sugared rim if you prefer.

Notes

Use organic cane sugar to make the simple syrup.
Choose good ingredients and fresh limes for best results.
The rum can be a light rum or a golden rum. Do not use a dark rum for daiquiris. Also, nothing too sweet.
Make sure you shake with ice really well. It is very important when making this cocktail.
