- 3 ounces simple syrup
- 5 ounces lime juice
- 5 ounces light to gold rum
Prepare the simple syrup. Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup organic cane sugar in a sauce pan and simmer until sugar is melted. Let it cool to room temperature. You can store it in the refrigerator for one week.
Add the fresh lime juice, simple syrup and rum to a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice (leaving room to shake).
Shake for 30 seconds, then strain over a coupe glasses.
Add a lime slice to garnish and a sugared rim if you prefer.
Use organic cane sugar to make the simple syrup.
Choose good ingredients and fresh limes for best results.
The rum can be a light rum or a golden rum. Do not use a dark rum for daiquiris. Also, nothing too sweet.
Make sure you shake with ice really well. It is very important when making this cocktail.
