Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Gruyère cheese coarsely shredded
  • 6 ounces Emmentaler cheese coarsely shredded
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 3/4 cup white wine
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl add the cheese and toss with cornstarch. 
  • Add the wine, garlic, and lemon juice in a medium sauce pot. 
  • Turn the oven to a simmer and stir while the cheese melts. 
  • Once it has melted, transfer it to a fondu pot and light the bottom to keep it creamy and melty.

Notes

Double this recipe to feed 12 people. 
Serve with chunks of fresh bread, apples, pears, or anything else you love to eat with melty cheese!
