Instructions
1. Prepare the pan. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and have your sprinkles and toppings ready.
2. Melt the chocolate. Add 10 ounces chocolate chips or candy melts to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each round, until smooth.
3. Transfer to a tall glass. Pour the melted chocolate into a tall, narrow glass or jar. This makes it much easier to evenly coat the long pretzel rods.
4. Dip the pretzels. Dip each of the 24 pretzel rods about three-quarters of the way into the chocolate. Tilt the glass if needed, then lift the pretzel out and let the excess chocolate drip back into the glass for a few seconds.
5. Decorate. Place each dipped pretzel on the prepared baking sheet and immediately add ¼ cup sprinkles or your favorite toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
6. Let them set. Leave the pretzel rods at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely firm.

Notes
Work in small batches: Dip and decorate about 4 to 5 pretzels at a time so the chocolate doesn't set before you add the toppings.
Don't overheat the chocolate: Melt it slowly and stir between every interval to keep it smooth.
Keep everything dry: Even a little water can cause melted chocolate to seize.
Storage: Store completely set pretzel rods in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week.
Make ahead: These can be made several days before serving, which makes them perfect for parties and gifting.
Candy melts: These are especially easy to use when you want colorful pretzel rods and don't require tempering.
