Mummy Brie

An easy, creamy and gooey mummy brie recipe. It's perfect as a Halloween appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz brie wheel you can use 8-10 ounces if you want
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Find this is the frozen area. You only need one sheet, and you can continue to freeze the rest.
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 medium sprinkle eyes Use small raisins if you don't have sprinkles.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into half-inch slices.

  • Wrap the entire brie wheel with strips of puff pastry, making sure to pinch in the back to secure it.

  • Whisk together one egg yolk and a splash of water in a small bowl.
  • Brush this mixture over the puff pastry-wrapped brie.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the pastry turns golden brown and the cheese oozes.

  • While it's still hot, place the sprinkled eyes on the brie for a spooky effect.
  • Serve with crackers, bread, fruits, or any other desired accompaniments.
