Notes
When buying white wine for sangria, go with a dryer Rioja Spanish white or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. You can use any liqueur you want. We used pear in this recipe, but there are oranges, peaches, and apples... indeed, so many!Any apple vodka from the store will work. It doesn't need to be expensive. It's sangria, after all!Simple syrup is made with sugar and water. Instead of muddling sugar at the bottom of the pitcher, we like to dilute it and melt it so it blends better. Mix 1/2 cup organic cane sugar with 1/2 cup water and simmer until sugar is melted. Super easy! The longer you leave the sangria in the refrigerator, the fresher the flavor. One to two hours is fine!
