An Easy White Wine Cocktail

This white wine cocktail is really invigorating, with a nice spice kick from the ginger simple syrup. Plus it’s really easy to make, just 4 ingredients, shake em up and you are done!

It’s perfect to whip up for parties or last minute gatherings round yours!

Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is a staple for many cocktails, it creates a lovely dpeth of flavors, that elevates drinks from just a mix of alcohol to a, taste bud pleasing, cocktail!

And simple syrup is really…..simple to make! The syrup for this white wine cocktail has ginger infused in it, giving the drink it’s lovely, warm and spicy kick.

You may well have syrup left over. You can keep basic simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 weeks, or 1-2 weeks for flavored simple syrups.

Pisco in this White Wine Cocktail

Along with the zesty lemon and warming ginger syrup, I’ve also added pisco.

Pisco is a colorless or yellowish-to-amber colored brandy produced in winemaking regions of Peru and Chile. Made by distilling fermented grape juice into a high-proof spirit, it was developed by 16th-century Spanish settlers as an alternative to orujo, a pomace brandy that was being imported from Spain.

The taste is much like the smell – grape, with hints of something a little bit sharp and exciting, like a not-so-sweet apple. The aftertaste is lovely – mostly sweet, with those grape and apple notes. It works perfectly in this whit e wine cocktail.

Top Tips for this Ginger and Lemon White Wine Cocktail

  • Use fresh squeezed lemon juice.
  • Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice, when the shaker is completely cold, the drink is mixed.
  • Let your simple syrup rest for at least 20 minutes, to allow the ginger to infuse.
  • Serve with lemon wedge and a piece of candied ginger.

‘Amazeballs’!!! Did not expect this fabulous reaction. Surprised it has not caught on as I never heard of it, but it definitely has the ‘WOW’ factor. Give it a go – highly recommended. You don’t have to use the specific name brands to have the same effect either.
It probably has not caught on as the name has not got the marketing edge it needs, but the product can become a classic. It needs a top-ten World bar to promote it under a name like ‘Ginger Orbit’!
