This easy Caramel Milkshake is so delicious and only needs three ingredients! Quick to whip up, the vanilla and coffee work so well together too! If you like a sweet, smooth and creamy shake, give this a twirl!

Caramel Coffee Milkshake with whipped cream and caramel.

Coffee and vanilla ice cream together is one of my favorite flavor combinations. I specifically remember sitting outside on a really hot summer day, sipping a coffee shake from Baskin-Robbins. Yes, my mother pretty much let me eat what I wanted.

Then at 16 I started working at a coffee shop (best job ever!) and we made Kona coffee milkshakes that were to die for. That is where my love for coffee and ice cream started and I will always be a fan!

How To Make This Caramel Milkshake

  • 1 cup caramel brewed coffee
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon caramel syrup something like torani syrup

Coffee And Ice Cream – Made For Each Other!

This caramel milkshake is so tasty and perfect treat for coffee lovers and if you love iced coffee, then especially so! Swapping ice cubes with scoops of the sugary treat, you can keep your coffee cool without watering it down. It will also make it extra sweet.

Don’t just take my word for it, the Italians got there first and they know a thing or too about food! The Italians have a drink called an Affogato, it consists of a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and a shot of hot espresso. So, if the italians are doing it then you know this combo must be tasty!

An Easy Caramel Milkshake

There are several ways to make this smooth and creamy milkshake. We personally like to keep it simple with only a few ingredients. It usually consists of ice cream, milk and maybe an additional flavor. For this one, we used vanilla ice cream, coffee and a little extra caramel syrup. We blended all together in my Vitamix to create a very smooth consistency. In 5 minutes you have a delicious shake – perfect!

Caramel Milkshake Toppings

We used Dunkin Donuts Carmel Coffee Cake for the brewed coffee, but you can use what you have. I loved the idea of adding coffee cake crumbs to the top of the milkshake! Coffee cake crumbs add a lovely sweet dusting to the shake and another lovely texture. Or go for sprinkles, chocolate morsels, anything you like!

Top Tips For A Caramel Milkshake

  • If you don’t have a blender, make the shake by shaking ingredients in a quart jar, with a teaspoon inside to act as the ad-hoc mixer. Got little ones? Have them take turns shaking.
  • Add the caramel syrup into the glass and swirl, before pouring the mixture in.
  • Tall glasses are the go-to choice for most shake makers, but mix things up and try the frozen drink in a margarita glass or a frosty glass mug. Pour any extra in a small pitcher just in case anyone wants seconds.
  • Serve with crumbled coffee cake for an extra flavor and texture burst!
