Add a kick to fruit with this easy Mexican style fruit plate! We used a homemade chili-lime salt and sprinkled it on long slices of fresh fruit.

It seems odd to put chili powder on fruit, but after trying it at a Mexican market, I was hooked on the unique flavor combination!

The chili gives the fruit a spicy kick that kept me coming back for more! They actually sell a chili-lime seasoning at the Mexican market, but I figured making my own would be easy too.

Mexican Style Fruit Plate with Chili Lime Salt

Ingredients

We used watermelon, pineapple, mango, lime, chili powder and salt for this Mexican fruit platter.

Tip – Save the top of the pineapple for the centerpiece of your fruit plate!

Sprinkling chili lime salt on sliced fruit.

Slice the fruit in long pieces to put on the platter. This is more traditional and a fun to eat the fruit.

Mexican Style Fruit Plate with Chili Lime Salt

Ingredients 

  • 1 medium watermelon , sliced into long peices
  • 1 pineapple , sliced into long peices
  • 1 mango , sliced into long peices
  • 4 limes, two for seasoing, two for ganrishing
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions 

  • Zest 2 limes in a small bowl.
  • Add in the chili and salt and mix well
  • Sprinkle the seasoning on the fruit.
  • When assembling the plate, add a layer of fruit, then sprinkle the seasoning over the top, add another layer and more seasoning… repeat.
