Directions

  • Melt the wax chips in a microwavable glass bowl. Using a bowl with a spout is best.
  • Once the wax is completely melted, add the essential oils. I like to use a lot of oil for a very strong scent. I use about 20 drops of each. Use more or less, depending on your preference. Remember, it’s not as strong of a scent once the wax hardens.
  • Add a little wax onto the bottom of the wick (there is a small round metal disc), and then place it at the bottom of the jar.
  • Wrap the extra wick around the stick and rest it on top of the jar.
  • Pour the wax into the jars and let it harden. It will turn from clear to white!
  • Once the wax has dried, cut the remaining wick off.
  • Tie some beautiful flowers around the outside and give them to a friend!

How To Choose The Best Essential Oils

The most important factor in choosing essential oils is ensuring they are 100% pure.

Some companies may refer to their products as “therapeutic grade” or “Grade A,” but they are simply assigning these to their products, and it is not overseen by any governing body.

Your best bet is to do some of your research on a brand or company to find out how they source their oils. Reputable companies should provide their consumers with test results (such as Gas chromatography/Mass Spectrometer or GC/MS) that verify the purity. This ensures that the oils have not been mixed with synthetic additives or diluted in any way.

If you can’t get this information from a company, you probably don’t want their products. But even then, you have to trust that the results you are given are legitimate.

Most reputable companies choose plant suppliers who farm without pesticides, even if they are not specifically ‘certified,’ because of differences in international rules.

When choosing the best essential oils, it all comes down to finding a trusted brand. And don’t be fooled—the most expensive brand of oils is not always the best!

Buying your essential oils online (after doing some research about the company) is probably the best and most affordable way to source them.

Essential oils come in a wide range of wonderful scents; here are some of the most popular!

  • Rosemary Essential Oil.
  • Patchouli Essential Oil.
  • Sweet Orange Essential Oil.
  • Marjoram Essential Oil.
  • Grapefruit Essential Oil.
