A sweet and easy Valentine’s Day craft to show your love. Take a walk down memory lane with this charming blast from the past balloon path!

Balloons with photos for Valentine's Day

We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day all week in the Passante house. Every day I have a little homemade surprise for Zan. I like celebrating Valentine’s Day, but not in the way of buying lavish gifts…

I mean seriously did we, not all just spend a giant sum of money during Christmas, what more could we need?! It’s all about a romantic dinner at home, a festive cocktail, like our rose water gin and a sentimental craft!

So in lieu of gifts, Zan will come home to a small surprise every day this week… just to show him, my love. Today when he walked in the door from work he was greeted by a pathway of balloons with small black and white photos of our past.

Red and pink balloons with black and white pictures tied to the string.

I called it the “blast from the past down the balloon path!” We’ve been together for 10 years (I was 18 when we met!), so there are definitely some good ones in there!

He adored his surprise and now we have festive balloons in our house for the rest of the week.

Supplies

  • Balloons
  • String
  • Helium tank (or you can have them blown up at the grocery store)
  • Small black and white photos

The photos don’t need to be printed on a super special paper or anything. This is just for fun so just print some on regular paper. You want it to be light photo paper too so it doesn’t weigh the balloon down.

Directions

Start with 20 helium-filled balloons with strings tied to the bottom.

Cut out your photos and use a small hole-punch to make a hole at the top of the photo.

Tie the photo to the end of the balloon string.

Make a pathway with the balloons!

Tip – If you have high ceilings, use bigger balloons and longer string.

You could also do this idea for your friends! Host a Valentine’s Day girlfriend get-together and use photos of you all together!

This is such a sweet idea. Such a creative alternative to traditional “gift giving”….so much more meaningful!
