Cooking with Roses
Roses make the most beautiful floral arrangements, and you can cook with them, too! There are hundreds of varieties of roses you can cook with. Roses are beautiful, edible flowers that add flavor and color to recipes. The only part of the rose that is edible is the petals. The petals have an aromatic, floral, and sweet taste.

Hi Eden,
Thanks for putting up this recipe. I have an anniversary coming up, and I have been troubled about which cocktail to prepare. Your Rosewater gin cocktail has won my heart! However, can I also add a Kiwi slice? My partner fancies that.
Hi Claire! Yes you can add a kiwi slice, that sounds great!
I Just made this recipe for the first time. It was tasty! I used slightly less than 1/2 tsp of rose water and it seems perfect. I loved the delicacy of rose water aroma.
So happy you loved it!
I had some rosewater to use up and found this cocktail. I love it-it’s so refreshing!! Here are my hacks and twist on the original:
I use 1oz regular simple syrup, and float enough rosewater on top, to take it a little above the line.
I prefer lime with gin, but lemon is good too.
The gin I use is Empress–because it’s a gorgeous violet color and ever so slightly floral.
I put all the ingredients–except the club soda–in a shaker with ice.
Shake for 20-30 seconds.
Strain into chilled coupe glass and top with the club soda and a twist of lime rind.
Voila, it’s purple perfection!
