Why You’ll Love These Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

  • Effortless but impressive: They look fancy but take minutes to make—ideal for parties, gifting, or a treat-yourself moment.
  • Customize your way: Dip in white, milk, or dark chocolate, then add sprinkles, nuts, coconut… whatever you love!
  • Sweet + juicy perfection: When strawberries are ripe and the chocolate is melty, it’s pure dessert magic.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ingredients

Fresh Strawberries – Abundant in the summer, these juicy berries are known for their sweetness, texture and vibrant red color.

Chocolate Chips – Use any of these chocolate chips: Semisweet, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate or White Chocolate

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Wash & Dry – To make them, you want to wash and dry the strawberries. You can then prepare your desired toppings.

Prepare – Set up a workspace for yourself by preparing a parchment-lined baking tray.

Melt – Gently melt your chocolate until smooth using one of these two easy methods:

  • Double Boiler: Place a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Stir the chocolate until it’s smooth and fully melted.
  • Microwave: Add chocolate to a heatproof bowl and microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and glossy. Be careful not to overheat!

Dip – You can then dip the strawberries in the chocolate. This would also be the time to coat them in toppings if desired.

Set – Lay the strawberries on your baking sheet and wait until the chocolate has set.

Eden’s Tips

Mix up the chocolate: Use white, dark, milk, or colorful candy melts for different vibes.

Go wild with toppings: Try crushed nuts, mini marshmallows, sprinkles, toasted coconut, crushed cookies, freeze-dried strawberries, or mini chocolate chips.

Make them healthier: Use no-sugar-added chocolate like Lily’s morsels for a better-for-you version.

Chill before dipping: Cold strawberries help the chocolate set quickly and evenly.

Dry thoroughly: Water and chocolate don’t mix—make sure your berries are completely dry before dipping.

Prep a dipping station: Line a tray with parchment and have your toppings ready to sprinkle while the chocolate is still warm.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do You Get Chocolate to Stick to Strawberries?

One issue people commonly come across when making chocolate-covered strawberries is getting the chocolate to stick to the fruit.
The best method for ensuring that the chocolate will stick to the strawberries is to make sure that they are 100% dry. Moisture on your strawberries can make them not last as long and make the chocolate not stick well.

How Do You Store Chocolate-covered Covered Strawberries?

The best way to store chocolate-covered strawberries is by storing them in an airtight container and covering them with wax paper. You can keep them in the refrigerator for up to two days this way.

How Long Do Chocolate Covered Strawberries Last?

Properly stored, chocolate-covered strawberries can last in the refrigerator for up to two days. If you eat them all in one day, you can store them at room temperature covered with plastic wrap or foil.
