Eden’s Simmer Pot Tips
Simmer, don’t boil. Gentle heat keeps the scent cozy and prevents burning.
Keep an eye on the water. Add more as needed so everything stays submerged.
Whole spices work best. Cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise last longer and smell better than ground spices.
Add oranges if you have them. Fresh peels or dehydrated slices add a bright, classic holiday scent.
Simmer Pot FAQs
On the stove, it will last about 2–4 hours depending on heat and how often you add water.
Yes. You can usually reuse it once or twice the same day by adding more water, but the scent will gradually fade.
Stored dry and sealed, it will last several weeks in a cool, dry place.
Absolutely. Orange peels, vanilla bean, or rosemary all pair beautifully with peppermint.
This peppermint simmer pot is one of my favorite ways to make the house feel warm, festive, and welcoming, especially during the holidays. It’s easy, charming, and something you’ll come back to year after year.
