Watermelon Lemonade Recipe

Happy Monday! I know you all enjoyed the first weekend of summer, yay! With a plethora of lemons that grow around here I’m always thinking of different ways I can use my favorite homemade lemonade recipe. This time I gave it the ultimate summer twist and spruced it up by adding fresh, puréed watermelon juice and whole chunks of watermelon in the drink dispenser. The result was an incredibly delicious watermelon lemonade! The watermelon gives it a sweet and refreshing taste. I served the yummy drink in 24oz plastic cups with lids (perfect for outdoor summer parties) and jumbo straws so you can sip up watermelon chunks. And I should mention that you do not have to make your own lemonade if you don’t have time!

Sweet Tip: Making it for just the adults? Spike it with some vodka for the perfect summer cocktail!

Hi Crystal! It depends on how you’re juicing the lemonade. I have a juicer that catches a lot of the pulp from the lemons. It has some, but not a lot. Try a juicer that doesn’t allow for a lot of pulp 😉

If you are using a blender, try using a nut milk bag to strain the juice from the pulp. Then you can freeze the pulp and use it later for raw breads and crackers.
      Hope that might help you!

Wow, this looks amazing. How much watermelon, would you estimate, makes 5 cups of watermelon juice?

Hey, there! I was hoping to make this for a thanksgiving potluck, and I was wondering if you need to double that homemade lemonade recipe of yours in order to make the watermelon lemonade.

Hi Jessica! Yes, double the recipe to make a large batch. Also, taste test to see if you need more or less sugar. Some lemons can be sweet and some very tart. Enjoy!!
