Peanut Butter Blossoms

I make these Peanut Butter Blossoms every year and they are yummmmmmy! They’re a Christmas tradition in our house so I wanted to share them with you all! Since this will be my last Christmas post, I hope everyone has an amazing weekend celebrating this wonderful holiday.  Thank you all for reading my Christmas posts and for the sweet comments too! Even though I can’t email everyone back, I do read each and every one of them and LOVE them all! Merry Christmas and joyous holidays!! Time to go gobble up some cookies, ha! Recipe below : )

Peanut Butter Blossoms
1/2 shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter… I used organic this time, but creamy Jiffy’s is the best for baking!
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
2 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1 bag Hershey Kisses

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Beat peanut butter and shortening on medium speed until creamy
Add in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and beat until combined
Beat in the egg, milk and vanilla
Add the flour in and mix until combined… don’t over mix – just blend in the flour.
Roll dough into 2 inch balls and then roll (to coat the small dough ball) in a small bowl of granulated sugar
Bake for 10 minutes and when they’re hot, push a Hershey Kiss in the middle of the cookie

mmmm! We call them Kissey cookies and they are a staple of our holiday baking. I just finished off the last one sitting lonely on the plate by itself this morning. It just looked so lonely!! 🙂 Merry Christmas!
