The Easiest Frozen Mango Margarita

They’re sunshine in a glass – Sweet, tart, and made with frozen mango for that frosty, refreshing finish. Perfect for cooling off on a hot day.

So easy, it’s almost too easy – No shaking, no stirring. Just toss everything in a blender, hit go, and pour. That’s my kind of cocktail.

A total party favorite – Whether it’s Cinco de Mayo party, Taco Tuesday, or just a tropical summer party, these always steal the show! Check out all of my margarita recipes too!

Mango Margarita Ingredient Notes

Frozen mango, lime juice, tequila, sugar, agave to make frozen mango margaritas.
  • Frozen Mango: I use pre-cut, frozen mango chunks to keep it easy. They blend beautifully and give the margarita that smooth, slushy texture—no ice cubes needed!
  • Tequila: Use your favorite! Silver, blanco, or even gold tequila all work great here. No need for the top-shelf stuff—just something tasty and good quality.
  • Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice adds that bright, citrusy zing. Bottled works in a pinch, but fresh really makes a difference.
  • Orange Liqueur: A splash of triple sec or Grand Marnier gives it that classic margarita flavor with a hint of orange.
  • Sugar: We keep it simple with granulated sugar—no need to make syrup! You can swap for agave if you prefer.

How to Make Frozen Mango Margaritas

1. Rim two cocktail glasses with salt or sugar—your choice!

    2. In a blender, add frozen mango, tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.

    3. Blend until smooth and slushy.

    4. Pour into your rimmed glasses.

    5. Garnish with a lime or mango slice and enjoy immediately!

    Frozen Margarita Tips

Adjust the texture – Too thick? Add a splash of water or juice. Too thin? Blend in more frozen mango.

Extra Sweet – Add sugar or agave for extra sweetness, or more lime for a tart punch.

Boost the booze – Want a stronger sip? Add an extra ounce of tequila!

No triple sec? Use orange juice or Grand Marnier for that citrusy flavor.

Rim it right – Try Tajín, sugar, or a salt-sugar mix. I love sweet + spicy!

Make ahead – Blend and freeze, then re-blend or stir before serving.

Garnish like a pro – Lime wheels, mango slices, mint, even a paper umbrella.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What’s in a frozen mango margarita?

Think of it as sunshine in a glass! I blend frozen mango chunks with fresh lime juice, tequila, Cointreau (or triple sec), and a little sugar. It’s creamy, tangy, and so refreshing—basically a vacation in frozen form.

Is triple sec the same as Cointreau?

Kind of! Triple sec and Cointreau are both orange liqueurs, but Cointreau is a little smoother and stronger with a more refined flavor. If you’re feeling fancy, go for Cointreau—but honestly, either will work beautifully in this recipe.

What’s a good substitute for Cointreau in a margarita?

You can use triple sec, Grand Marnier, or even an orange liqueur from Trader Joe’s (I’ve done it!). In a pinch, a little orange juice and extra tequila can still get the job done—no judgment here!

Can I make these ahead of time?

Totally! Blend everything up and store it in the freezer. Just give it a quick stir or blend again before serving. I love pouring it into a cute pitcher and letting guests help themselves—it’s a party lifesaver!

How to Freeze Fresh Mangoes for Mango Margaritas

It’s easy to freeze ripe mangos for margaritas! Simply cut mango cubes before freezing them. Add them to a freezer bag or airtight container and freeze overnight for up to 6 months. This will make them easier to blend later on.
When you’re ready to make the margaritas, add all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
