Strawberry jello shots made inside real strawberries and dipped in chocolate for a fun, festive party treat. I fill big, juicy strawberries with vanilla jello, add a chocolate dip and a little sparkle, and call it done. They’re especially fun for Valentine’s Day parties.
I love serving these for parties because they’re handheld, mess-free, and feel more elevated than traditional jello shots. If you’re already a fan of jello shots, try my Aperol Spritz Jello Shots, Jameson Whiskey Shots, Cranberry Jello Shots!

How to Make Strawberry Jello Shots

- Wash and dry the strawberries. Cut off the tops and gently hollow out the centers, making sure there are no holes in the bottom.
- Place the strawberries cut-side up in a mini muffin tin so they stay upright.
- Add the gelatin to a bowl. Pour the boiling water over it and whisk until completely smooth.
- Whisk in the liquor and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Let the mixture sit for about one minute so it is not piping hot.
- Carefully pour the jello mixture into the strawberries.
- Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, or until fully set.
- Dip the strawberries in melted chocolate, then sprinkle with edible glitter and strawberry powder.

I always use large strawberries because they’re easier to fill
Let the jello cool slightly before pouring to keep the strawberries firm
A mini muffin tin makes this recipe stress-free and keeps everything upright
Decorate while the chocolate is still wet so the toppings stick
These are best served the same day. You can make them one day ahead, but they’re freshest the day they’re made

FAQs
Yes, but these are best the day they’re made. You can prepare them up to one day ahead, but the strawberries are freshest and firmest the same day.
They can if the jello is poured in while it’s too hot or if they sit too long. Let the jello cool slightly before filling and serve within 24 hours for the best texture.
Vodka or vanilla vodka works best because it doesn’t overpower the strawberry flavor. Light rum also works if you want something a little warmer and softer. I use rum in my Pina Colada shots!
Yes. You can replace the alcohol with cold water or juice for a non-alcoholic version that’s still fun and party-friendly.
I always place them in a mini muffin tin. It keeps everything upright and makes filling them much easier.
Absolutely. The chocolate adds a fun finish, but these are just as good without it. You can also drizzle chocolate over the top instead of dipping just like I do with my chocolate-covered pretzel rods.
