A charming Easter table setting and tips for decorating an Easter table for spring. Whether hosting a big family brunch or having an intimate gathering with friends, a beautifully decorated table sets the tone for a memorable celebration.

As the spring season arrives, it’s time to think about ways to decorate for Easter. One of the best ways to add a touch of festive cheer is by creating a beautiful tablescape for Easter dinner or brunch. These are simple easter table decor ideas you can do at home for an extra special Easter Sunday.

Easter was always a big celebration in our home. My mom would buy us fancy Easter dresses each year, and we would have a large family dinner and an egg hunt. I loved how my mom decorated the house for Easter. Sometimes, it was extravagant, but I appreciated the festivities!

Now, I’m passing on some of that joy and am excited to share my tips and ideas for decorating an Easter table. Check out my Easter brunch table for more gorgeous table ideas and recipes.

Decorating An Easter Table

Choose A Theme

Of course, Easter and spring are a theme, but that’s still general. Narrow it down to a flower or color scheme. This will help you to have a cohesive look and make decorating easier. For this one, I was inspired by the cabbage plates, which set my table’s theme.

Some popular themes for an Easter tablescape are:

  • Spring flowers, such as tulips, daffodils, or lilies
  • Pastel colors like pink, blue, yellow, and green
  • Modern or vintage Easter theme
  • Garden party with floral patterns and fresh greenery

Choosing a Color Palette

The first step to creating a beautiful tablescape is choosing a color scheme. Easter is often associated with pastel colors like pink, yellow, and green. Mix it up with bold pops of color or even a more muted and neutral palette. For this Easter setting, I used shades of greens and blues.

Selecting A Place Setting

Although place settings aren’t necessary, they add elegance and charm to your table. For Easter, you can choose from a variety of options such as:

  • Use Easter eggs as name cards by writing each guest’s name on them with a gold or silver pen.
  • Add natural elements and tie a bunch of fresh herbs or flowers with twine and place it on each plate.
  • Create name cards by writing each guest’s name on a leaf with a gold or silver pen.
  • Wrap a bow and name card around a chocolate bunny.

Incorporating Fresh Flowers and Floral Arrangement

No Easter table is complete without fresh flowers. They add a touch of natural beauty and freshness to the table. Here are some ways to incorporate beautiful blooms into your table decor:

  • Create a stunning centerpiece using a glass vase filled with fresh spring flowers like tulips, daffodils, or hyacinths.
  • Use floral foam and green moss to create a beautiful base for your centerpiece.
  • Place small bud vases with single stems of flowers along the length of your table for a simple yet elegant look.
  • Add a personal touch by using flowers from your garden.
  • Fresh tulips are the easiest way to add color and are simple to arrange.

For this table setting, I used cabbage and green and white flowers in a vase and then added green and white to bud vases.

Easter Table Decorations

Add some decorative items and Easter-themed touches to elevate your Easter table decor. Here are a few ideas:

  • Place wooden eggs or bunnies in the center of your table for a fun and festive focal point.
  • Use small flowers like daisies or pansies to create mini floral arrangements in egg cups.
  • Display a collection of decorative eggs in different colors and patterns throughout the table.
  • Use cute Easter baskets to hold utensils or as individual place settings for each guest.

Table Linens

Table linens add texture and a sense of luxuriousness. They’re a great way to play with color and design, mixing and matching textures. I used a linen table runner for this table and paired it with green floral cotton napkins.

DIY Bunny Napkins

To add a whimsical touch, try folding your napkins into bunny shapes. Here’s how:

  1. Fold the napkin in half diagonally to form a triangle.
  2. Roll the left and right corners of the triangle towards the middle to create two “ears” at the top.
  3. Flip the napkin over and tie a ribbon or twine around the bottom to create the bunny’s body.

Easter symbolizes sweet treats like chocolate eggs and jelly beans, so why not use them as part of your table decor? Here are some ideas:

  • Fill small jars or bowls with colorful candies and place them throughout the table.
  • Use Peeps marshmallow bunnies to create a cute and edible centerpiece.
